See Jim at ‘Art All Night Tenley’ Saturday, September 24!

Come by the information area (Tenley Inn) at Art All Night Tenleytown this Saturday, September 24, 7-10 PM. Get your info and say hi to Jim. I will be playing no less than 45 songs and instrumental pieces through the evening. Go see some of the dozens of artists and performers at multiple venues, then come back and I’ll still be playing. I start at 7.

[Cleveland-Park] Art All Night – Made In DC comes to Tenleytown! This Saturday 7-12am

Art All Night is a celebration of contemporary art in all its forms and is coming to Tenleytown this Saturday, September 24, from 7-midnight. Ten venues up and down Wisconsin Avenue, including Whole Foods, the Tenley Library, Tenley Bar and Grill, and others will be transformed into pop-up galleries and performance spaces.

The line up is awesome and includes more than 30 artists and performers, most of whom work and live in the greater Tenleytown area. Art events and installations will include photography, painting, sculpture, jewelry, and more. There will also be lots of live music, dance, and literary readings. Art Night attendees can celebrate their inner artists through interactive crafts and art projects, open dance and yoga mini-classes, and interaction with local artists. Art All Night promises to be a bunch of fun, so come grab your friends and family and come on out!

Fix Those Tabs!

Send your tabs to me to fix! Just submit the form on the lessons page as if you were inquiring about lessons. Name the piece or song and add a link the the tab or a PDF file etc. I won’t write a new transcription, but I will tell you where the mistakes are! Whether it’s the wrong key, wrong chords, wrong notes in notation or tab, or anything else. Please allow several days depending on the music. All free for you.

Bistro Fada Transcription (Lead)-6 Pages

Since I posted a video of this piece on YouTube last year there have been numerous requests for a transcription. Here is one. This is strictly my interpretation of Mr. Wrembel’s work–I did not attempt to copy his fingerings exactly. However, I did try to represent the parts well, including the 3rd section, which was not included in the first recordings I heard. I did not transcribe the rhythm part. There are some posts of this available on the web, though I can’t vouch for their accuracy. Keep in mind that not every recording has exactly the same chord progression.
